Co-founder and CEO

Nourish

Aidan Dewar is co-founder and chief executive of Nourish, a virtual nutrition and metabolic health clinic in New York that connects patients with registered dietitians through their insurance. Dewar is trying to treat chronic disease through what people eat, after a dietitian solved the migraines that years of other care had not.

Migraines and a Childhood Friend

Dewar went to high school at St. Mark's School of Texas and studied economics at Harvard, then worked as an associate consultant at Bain & Company from 2018 to 2020, according to his NYTech profile.

He had suffered from chronic migraines, and his childhood friend Sam Perkins had irritable bowel syndrome. Both found relief by working with a dietitian, TechCrunch reported, and they started Nourish together with Stephanie Liu, who had become close friends with Perkins at Princeton. Dewar has said the information about what to eat was never the hard part: "the majority of the work is not in ... learning what you need to do but actually in enacting those habits," he said in a podcast interview quoted in his NYTech profile.

Starting Nourish in Y Combinator

Nourish went through Y Combinator in early 2021 and launched in November 2021. Its pitch was that insurers already pay for medical nutrition therapy, so the company signed contracts with Medicare and large insurers and employed its own dietitians. "94% of our patients are fully covered by insurance and pay nothing out of pocket," Dewar told TechCrunch in 2023, when Nourish had 50 dietitians and a waitlist of more than 400 wanting to join.

From Dietitians to a Metabolic Clinic

By 2026 Nourish had more than 10,000 registered dietitians and had become profitable, Dewar told Fierce Healthcare. It began hiring physicians to offer lab tests and GLP-1 prescriptions in the same program. "Since the start of the business, the vision has always been how do we combine a virtual care team that makes changing your lifestyle easy with AI that can be a 24/7 coach to help you change your behavior with medications," he said.

He has argued that GLP-1 drugs need diet and habit changes to last. "We can be the most responsible prescriber on the market, because we don't make money on the medication," he told Fierce Healthcare. In May 2026 Nourish raised a $100 million Series C led by Menlo Ventures.
