Charlie Bell is chief executive and managing director of Nicolab, a Melbourne, Australia and Amsterdam, Netherlands company that makes stroke imaging and collaboration software. Its StrokeViewer and Nicolab Assist tools let stroke teams at different hospitals see the same scans and agree on treatment quickly.
Education
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accountancy and business law. He is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Business
He joined Nicolab in 2021 as chief financial officer. In that job he built its financial and governance systems, led its expansion into new markets including China, and led its pre-IPO capital raise.
In September 2026 the board named him chief executive and managing director, and Michael Macilquham, the previous chief executive, became chief commercial officer. The company plans to list on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2027. "Our priority is to grow Nicolab's reach so that more clinicians and patients benefit from faster, better-coordinated stroke care, while building a business that is ready for life as a listed company," Bell said.
