Cliff Baker is the founder of Meditology Services, an Atlanta, Georgia, consulting firm that works only on healthcare cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance. He was lead architect of the HITRUST framework, the security standard that many hospitals, health plans, and their vendors are certified against.
Designing the HITRUST Framework
He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he established and led the firm's first dedicated healthcare security practice. He went on to become lead architect of the HITRUST framework, which brings HIPAA and other security requirements into one set of controls that healthcare organizations can be assessed and certified against. It became the most widely adopted security and privacy framework in healthcare.
Founding Meditology
He started Meditology in 2010 with the aim of building the most sought-after name in healthcare security, privacy, and compliance consulting, and led it as managing partner. By its tenth year the firm had been ranked first by KLAS for cybersecurity advisory services in 2019 and 2020 and had offices in Atlanta; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Diego, California; and Denver, Colorado. "It has been an incredible journey," he said at the time. In September 2025 his longtime partner Nadia Fahim-Koster became chief executive, and he continues as founder.
Football and Travel
He follows Liverpool Football Club and never misses a game. He has traveled to the World Cup on five continents and likes to stay active.
