Danny Sigurdson

Founder and CEO

Courier Health

Danny Sigurdson is the founder and chief executive of Courier Health, a New York City software company whose CRM helps drug manufacturers' patient services and market access teams get patients started on specialty therapies and keep them on treatment. A software sales and client leader who spent a decade at technology companies, he started Courier in 2020 with Jimmy Pomponio, a veteran of biotech patient services. Sigurdson is trying to give biopharma companies one record of each patient's path to therapy, so fewer patients drop off between a prescription and the first dose.

From Eckerd College to ActionIQ

Sigurdson studied economics at Eckerd College, according to his New York Tech profile. He worked on strategic initiatives at Dayforce from 2010 to 2013, then spent two years as a director of client solutions at Applied Predictive Technologies. From 2015 to 2020 he was vice president of sales at ActionIQ, and in 2020 he took an executive education course in digital transformation in health care at Harvard Medical School.

Founding Courier Health in New York City

Sigurdson founded Courier in 2020 with Jimmy Pomponio, who had spent more than a decade running patient services at biotech companies and became chief operating officer. PM360 listed Courier among its innovative startups of 2021, describing Sigurdson as someone with more than ten years of experience building and scaling software companies. He has also talked about early lessons on a podcast titled "Sales Can't Save You from Bad Product-Market Fit."

Helping Patients Start Therapy

About 30% of specialty patients never start their prescribed therapy and 70% stop within months, Sigurdson told AlleyWatch in May 2026.

That month Courier raised a $50 million Series B led by Oak HC/FT. The company quadrupled the number of therapies on its platform in 2025 and more than doubled its headcount. Asked about growth, he said "more companies die of indigestion than starvation," and described his plan as to "stay maniacally focused on our customers and their outcomes."

In New York City, his favorite place to spend time is Washington Market Park in Tribeca, in Lower Manhattan, where he goes with his family.
