Eric Levin

Co-founder and CEO

Scripta Insights

Eric Levin is the co-founder and chief executive of Scripta Insights, a Boston, Massachusetts, company whose pharmacy navigation software shows employees on self-insured health plans cheaper ways to fill the same or equivalent prescriptions. He spent most of his career in consumer technology and toys, including on the executive team that grew The Learning Company, before turning to prescription drug prices in 2019. Levin believes employers can cut drug spending inside the pharmacy benefits they have by giving members better information each time they refill.

From Electronics Retail to The Learning Company

Levin began his career at a consumer electronics retailer, according to his Scripta biography. He then joined Kevin O'Leary in consumer technology as part of the executive team that grew The Learning Company from $60 million to more than $1.2 billion in sales in six years, before it sold for $3.6 billion.

Executive Roles at Mattel and Li & Fung

He went on to hold senior roles at large and small companies: senior vice president at Mattel, chief marketing officer of Frictionless Commerce, chief executive and co-president of Techno Source, and division president and corporate senior vice president at Li & Fung, which his biography describes as a $20 billion publicly traded global company. He also ran M5 Consulting. Across those jobs he says he created or managed products with more than $5 billion in sales and took part in more than 32 mergers and acquisitions.

Meeting Paul Bradley and Founding Scripta

In 2019 Levin met Dr. Paul Bradley, a physician, and the two co-founded Scripta to tackle the cost of prescription drugs, according to the company's Series B announcement. His Scripta biography says he joined because he believes the US is in a health care crisis in which drug prices are too high and people cannot afford the medicine they need. Bradley is the company's chief medical officer.

Working Within the Pharmacy Benefit System

In a 2026 Leader's Edge Q&A, Levin said employers often assume their pharmacy benefit manager will keep costs low. "But that's not their job," he said. "Their job, as a company, is to make as much money as possible off of you." Scripta, he explained, "specifically and strategically decided to work within the system," and most of its savings come from changing patterns in refills. "We're not in the stick business; we're in the carrot business."

The app's GLP-1 buyers' guide, the most visited part of the product, started with his own family. A relative wanted to start a GLP-1 drug that was not covered, Levin said, and he found the search for the best deal online overwhelming, so Scripta built a guide and keeps it updated.
