Hari Prasad is founder and chief executive of Yosi Health, a New York City company that makes patient intake software. A practice uses it so its patients can fill out registration, insurance, history, and consent forms on their phones before the visit.
Studying Healthcare Informatics
He studied at the West Virginia University Institute of Technology and earned a master's degree in healthcare informatics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then held management roles at Montefiore Medical Center, Amerigroup, and UnitedHealthcare.
Founding Yosi
He started Yosi in 2015 after dislocating his shoulder and spending his emergency room visit filling out paper forms. Before building any software he interviewed hundreds of patients and front-desk staff about check-in. Yosi joined the Dreamit accelerator in 2016, and its software now connects two ways with Epic and athenahealth, so a patient's answers land in the chart. Much of its work is with orthopedic practices.
