Ken Kaufman is chief executive of Sirona Medical, a San Francisco company that makes RadOS, a cloud radiology platform. Radiology practices use it to combine their worklist, image viewer, reporting, and image archive in one system that runs in a browser.

Business

At IDX Systems he led development and marketing of the company's electronic medical record business, which Allscripts acquired in 2000. He then became chief operating officer of A-Life Medical, where he oversaw a coding application that used natural language processing to read radiology reports.

He joined McKesson in 2002 and spent about a decade there. He sold PACS systems and spent thousands of hours with radiologists learning what they needed, then led McKesson's international customer operations, including its imaging and cardiology divisions. Sirona says McKesson's PACS business grew during that time into one of the largest installed bases in the United States.

In 2010 he co-founded PureWellness, a cloud population health software company that grew to more than 15 million users. Cerner bought it, and he stayed on as vice president and general manager of population health.

Sirona named him chief executive in January 2025. In October 2025 the company received FDA clearance for its Advanced Imaging Suite, which he said completed "a four-year journey toward delivering the most complete, FDA-cleared, and cloud native diagnostic environment in the industry."
