Valant

Ram Krishnan is chief executive of Valant, a Seattle, Washington company that makes electronic health record and practice management software for behavioral health practices. A therapy or psychiatry practice uses it so its clinicians write notes, schedule, and bill in one system.

Training as a Systems Engineer

He earned an undergraduate degree in systems engineering, which he has said taught him to look at how the parts of an organization fit together.

Years at GE Healthcare

He spent nearly 15 years at GE Healthcare, where he led its global radiology and services businesses, and then held leadership roles at software companies, including a public one.

Leading Valant

Valant hired him as chief executive in October 2020, when its founder, David Lischner, moved to a role focused on business development and product strategy. In December 2023 Resurgens Technology Partners bought Valant from Gemspring Capital.

Valant now sells tools for intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, the levels of behavioral health care between weekly therapy and an inpatient stay. He has said these programs succeed when intake, notes, utilization review, and billing run in one system.
