SuperDial
Sam Schwager is co-founder and chief executive of SuperDial, a company whose voice AI agents make the phone calls billing teams place to insurance companies. A billing team uses it so its staff stop waiting on hold to check a claim or verify a patient's benefits.
Studying AI at Stanford
He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematical and computational science and a master's degree in computer science, focused on artificial intelligence, at Stanford University, where he met Harrison Caruthers.
From SuperBill to SuperDial
He and Caruthers first built SuperBill, a billing company that helped specialty practices get paid. Its staff spent thousands of hours on calls to insurers, so they built an internal tool to automate those calls, and in late 2023 they turned it into SuperDial and focused the company on it.
SuperDial's agents navigate phone menus, wait on hold, and talk with insurer representatives, and a human call center takes over when an agent cannot finish. In June 2025 it raised a $15 million Series A led by SignalFire. He expects insurers to automate their side as well, so that more of these exchanges happen between two AI systems.
