Sharon Meers
President and co-founder
Midi Health
Sharon Meers is president and co-founder of Midi Health, the virtual clinic for women in midlife. She spent 17 years in finance, much of it as a managing director at Goldman Sachs, then led strategy at eBay, and she co-wrote Getting to 50/50 with Midi co-founder Joanna Strober.
A Career at Goldman Sachs
At Goldman Sachs, Meers was a managing director. Her author bio says her interest in how men and women share work and home grew from recruiting and retaining women at the firm, where she co-chaired the Women's Network in the Investment Management Division, sat on the diversity committees of two divisions, and built a mentorship program that paired high-potential women with senior male advisors.
Strategy at eBay
She went on to lead strategy and go-to-market for eBay's e-commerce platform, according to her Midi team page. When Getting to 50/50 came out, she was head of enterprise strategy at Magento, then part of eBay.
Writing and Speaking on Women in Leadership
With Joanna Strober, Meers wrote Getting to 50/50, a primer on how women and men can succeed both professionally and as parents. She has written and spoken about women in leadership at Fortune 500 companies and in The New York Times, Fortune, and BusinessWeek, and has appeared on NPR and the TODAY Show. She and her husband funded the Partnership for Parity at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Dual-Career Initiative at Harvard University.
Boards and Education
Meers is an independent director for Capital Group mutual funds and serves on the advisory board of LeanIn.org. She previously served on the boards of the National Women's Law Center and Stanford's Clayman Institute for Gender Research. She holds a B.A. in history from Harvard College and a master's in economics from New York University.
