Founder and CEO
Stedi
Zack Kanter is founder and chief executive of Stedi, a healthcare clearinghouse that software teams use through APIs. A digital health company uses Stedi so its own product can check a patient's insurance and send claims without a legacy billing portal.
An Auto Parts Business in Colorado
In 2010 he founded Proforged in Boulder, Colorado, an auto parts brand that sold more than 2,000 steering and suspension parts, made in Taiwan and China, through O'Reilly Auto Parts and Amazon. Retailers sent orders and invoices as X12 EDI files, the same file standard healthcare uses for claims and eligibility, and building each connection was slow and expensive. Drake Automotive Group, a Huron Capital company, bought Proforged in May 2018.
Building Stedi
He founded Stedi to make EDI work like a modern API, and Stedi later turned to healthcare. When the 2024 cyberattack on Change Healthcare took that clearinghouse offline, Stedi launched a drop-in replacement for its customers. In August 2025 Stedi raised a $70 million Series B co-led by Stripe and Addition, bringing total funding to $142 million, and it had about 125 employees working remotely.
