Chris Severn and Adam Geitgey launched Turquoise Health in 2020, as federal rules began forcing hospitals to publish their negotiated rates. Severn had worked in revenue cycle at Cloudmed, and Geitgey had led engineering teams at Groupon. The San Diego company first hosted hospital price pages and cleaned up the new rate files.

The platform has since moved from rate data into contracts. Market Intelligence benchmarks negotiated rates by market, payer, and code. Contract Intelligence compares a system's own rates and terms with its market, and Precision Contracting models negotiation scenarios and expected payments.

Turquoise Health also builds and maintains the machine-readable rate files that hospitals and plans must post. It sells white-label price tools that let patients compare services before they book. AskTQ, its AI assistant, answers pricing and contract questions inside the platform.

Turquoise Health says more than 300 organizations use it, including 10 of the 25 largest health systems and nine of the 10 largest drug makers. It says UNC Health saved about $2 million in a single negotiation and cut contract merger analysis from two weeks to one day. New York City launched its health care price comparison tool with Turquoise in 2026.

Oak HC/FT led a $40 million Series C in March 2026, with Andreessen Horowitz and Adams Street Partners investing again. Turquoise Health says its next goal is one auditable rate agreed before a claim is filed, so patients can see a firm price up front.

Serif Health fits when the main need is clean rate data through dashboards or APIs at a smaller scope. MD Clarity fits specialty groups that want underpayment recovery and patient estimates in one tool.
