Groups Recover Together
Cooper Zelnick is chief executive of Groups Recover Together, an addiction treatment provider that pairs Suboxone with weekly group therapy in more than a dozen states. A former venture investor focused on behavioral health, he has spent nearly a decade at Groups and became CEO in September 2025.
Investing at RRE Ventures
Before Groups, Zelnick was an investor at RRE Ventures in New York City, focused on behavioral health and health care services, according to the Groups About page. He graduated magna cum laude from Williams College with a B.A. in English and history.
Rising Through Groups
He joined Groups in 2018 and held roles including chief of staff, chief strategy officer, chief revenue officer, and president, according to Behavioral Health Business, before he became chief executive.
Leading Groups Through Medicaid Changes
In that interview, Zelnick said he expects Medicaid enrollment to contract and the needs of Medicaid patients to grow more complex, and that Groups is investing in grant funding, free and discounted programs for uninsured patients, exchange plan contracts, and added services. “The first thing I want to do is protect the mission, protect the people, and continue doing what has made us awesome,” he said.
