Samson Magid
Co-founder and CEO
HealthSnap
Samson Magid is co-founder and chief executive of HealthSnap, a Miami, Florida company that runs remote patient monitoring and chronic care management for health systems and physician groups. Its patients take readings on cellular devices at home, so their care teams can see how they are doing between office visits.
Why he started HealthSnap
His grandfather lived with heart failure and type 2 diabetes, and much of his condition went unmonitored between medical appointments. Poorly managed diabetes eventually led to the amputation of a limb. Magid has said that experience is why he started the company.
Business
He co-founded HealthSnap in 2015 with Chase Preston and Wesley Smith, out of University of Miami research on improving health through lifestyle and technology. The company launched remote patient monitoring in 2019 and later added chronic care management, principal care management, and advanced primary care management. He told MedCity News in 2024 that the country's approach to chronic conditions was "completely backwards," because about four million Americans age into Medicare every year and most of them have two or more chronic conditions.
In February 2024 HealthSnap closed a $25 million Series B led by Sands Capital, which brought its total funding to $48.5 million. In August 2026 it added a $25 million debt facility led by Eastward Capital Partners and said it worked with more than 200 health systems and physician organizations. Magid said the company would use AI "to amplify clinicians, not replace them."
