Alex Cohen and Nick DeRobertis started Hello Patient in 2024 with a team from Carbon Health, where Cohen spent more than three years running consumer and growth product. At Carbon he rebuilt its call-center systems and managed patient communications, and he found most of them still happened by phone and text. Hello Patient sells a managed service priced like software: it connects to a medical group's EHR and other systems and takes over work such as calling referred patients, so the practice does not need to hire people for it.

Hello Patient raised a $6.3 million seed round from 8VC, Bling Capital, and Max Ventures, then a $22.5 million Series A in September 2025 led by Scale Venture Partners. The Series A valued Hello Patient at $100 million, and by then its agents handled 10,000 to 20,000 conversations a day, up from hundreds a day the previous October. It focuses on urgent care, ENT and allergy, and primary care, and also works with dermatology and orthopedic practices.

Compare Assort Health when a specialty group with complex scheduling rules wants agents built for that specialty, Hyro when a health system wants agents across many channels, Keona Health when nurse triage is required, PatientPrism when the goal is coaching staff from call analytics, and Parakeet Health when a dermatology group wants pay-for-performance pricing.
