Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer

Patient Prism

Amol Nirgudkar is co-founder and chief executive of Patient Prism, in Tampa, Florida. Patient Prism reviews phone calls at dental and medical offices and shows why a caller did not book an appointment, so the office can fix the call and try to get that patient in.

Early life

He lived in India until he was 15, then moved with his family to Tampa, Florida. He studied accounting, finance, and economics at the University of South Florida, earned a master's in accounting, and became a certified public accountant. He started at PwC, worked at a smaller firm, and then ran his own accounting practice for 15 years. Many of the clients were dentists.

Business

Those dental offices were getting new-patient calls and still losing about half of them before anyone booked a visit. He had started a marketing company for dentists and kept seeing that gap. In 2015 he and Mike Spiessbach started Patient Prism. Patient Prism uses conversational AI to listen to the call, so the office can tell whether the problem was the script, a follow-up that never happened, or a schedule with no open time.

In an April 2026 interview he told Dr. Sonya Reddy that the right approach is to use technology to take the mundane, repetitive tasks off of humans so they can spend their time building trust with patients.

Personal

He hosts the Healthcare 100 podcast.
