Hottest Healthcare Industry Investors (November 2026)

Eight healthcare investors who led notable rounds in the past five weeks, from family caregiving to clinical AI.

Published . This list is refreshed every month.

The biggest healthcare checks get the headlines, but the partners behind them are less known. Each investor here led or backed a round in a healthcare company between September 22 and October 27, 2026. Vineeta Agarwala led Andreessen Horowitz's $120 million bet on General Medicine, Mike Dixon's Transformation Capital led Abby Care's $82 million Series C, and Aman Mahajan joined Suki's board after Healthier Capital led its $90 million Series E.

A round is not a return, and most of these bets are less than two months old. Each investor links to a profile and to our review of the company they backed. You can browse more in our people pages, the company directory, and our research library.

How We Chose

We tracked healthcare funding rounds announced between September 22 and October 27, 2026 and kept partners at venture or growth firms credited with leading the round, quoted in the announcement, or joining the board. We favored rounds in companies under $500 million in revenue. Entries are in alphabetical order by last name.

$120MLed General Medicine's Series B
Vineeta Agarwala

1. Vineeta Agarwala

General Partner, Andreessen Horowitz

Notable bet
General Medicine
Why now
Led General Medicine's $120 million Series B, announced October 6, 2026.

Agarwala is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where she invests across biotech, life sciences software, and digital health. She is a physician who still sees patients at Stanford, and she earlier built oncology data products at Flatiron Health.

Why now

In a16z’s post on the deal, Agarwala and three colleagues wrote that they were "thrilled that the PillPack team is back together." The bet is on a store model for care whose revenue is not public yet.

$31MOak HC/FT led Vitalize's Series A
Vig Chandramouli

2. Vig Chandramouli

Partner, Oak HC/FT

Notable bet
Vitalize
Why now
Oak HC/FT led Vitalize's $31 million Series A, announced October 6, 2026.

Chandramouli has invested in health care at Oak HC/FT since 2014. He grew up in a small town in South India, where his grandfather, a doctor, saw 40 to 50 patients a day.

Why now

"Labor is a nearly trillion-dollar line item for U.S. health systems," he said in the announcement. Vitalize's results so far come from customers it cites.

$82MTransformation Capital led Abby Care's Series C
Mike Dixon

3. Mike Dixon

Managing Partner, Transformation Capital

Notable bet
Abby Care
Why now
Transformation Capital led Abby Care's $82 million Series C in October 2026.

Dixon is a managing partner at Transformation Capital, a growth equity firm that invests only in digital health. He was earlier a general partner at Sequoia Capital, where he helped lead investments in Health Catalyst, Clover Health, and MedExpress.

Why now

"We believe Abby Care has the opportunity to build the infrastructure that makes family caregiving a standard option for at-home care across the country," Dixon said in the announcement. The bet rests on state Medicaid programs continuing to pay family caregivers.

$90MHealthier Capital led Suki's Series E
Aman Mahajan

4. Aman Mahajan

Partner, Healthier Capital

Notable bet
Suki
Why now
Healthier Capital led Suki's $90 million Series E, announced October 13, 2026.

Mahajan is an anesthesiologist and physician-scientist who chaired anesthesiology departments at UCLA Health and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, then led health innovation and venture investing at UPMC before joining Healthier Capital.

Why now

He joined Suki's board with the round. "The real opportunity for AI in healthcare isn't to automate individual tasks," he said in the announcement. Suki is a later-stage bet in a crowded ambient AI market.

$20MF-Prime led AblePay Health's Series A
Nikhil Marathe

5. Nikhil Marathe

Principal, F-Prime

Notable bet
AblePay Health
Why now
F-Prime led AblePay Health's $20 million Series A, announced October 7, 2026.

Marathe works on venture growth investments in health care software and services at F-Prime. He spent 13 years at Silversmith Capital Partners and TA Associates before joining.

Why now

"AblePay has built a differentiated model that addresses a significant market pain point for both healthcare providers and patients," he said in the announcement. AblePay does not publish volume figures, so the size of that opportunity is hard to check.

$28.5MThreshold led Vera Health's Series A
Emily Melton

6. Emily Melton

Co-founder and Managing Partner, Threshold Ventures

Notable bet
Vera Health
Why now
Threshold led Vera Health's $28.5 million Series A, announced October 27, 2026.

Melton co-founded Threshold Ventures and has backed health companies including Livongo, Brightline, Elation Health, Transcarent, and Viz. She chaired the National Venture Capital Association for the 2022-23 term.

Why now

"By bringing that evidence to the point of care, Vera becomes a trusted clinical intelligence layer, not just another AI tool," she said in the announcement. Vera is free for clinicians, so the return depends on partnerships it has not yet detailed.

$7MRethink Impact led Allswell's seed round
Heidi Patel

7. Heidi Patel

Managing Partner, Rethink Impact

Notable bet
Allswell
Why now
Rethink Impact led Allswell's $7 million seed round, announced October 14, 2026.

Patel is a managing partner at Rethink Impact, which invests in female-led technology companies, and was an early investor in Spring Health. She co-created and teaches a course on impact investing at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Why now

"Only 5% of Gen X identifies as LGBTQ+, compared with 25% of Gen Z," she said in the announcement. Allswell is small, with an estimated $2 million or less in annual revenue.

$20MNEA led Basalt Health's Series A
Blake Wu

8. Blake Wu

Partner, NEA

Notable bet
Basalt Health
Why now
NEA led Basalt Health's $20 million Series A, announced September 24, 2026.

Wu has invested in digital health and biopharmaceutical companies at NEA since 2014. NEA backed Basalt in its seed round, and Wu sits on its board.

Why now

"The company's AI-powered platform is becoming essential infrastructure for care teams," Wu said in the announcement. The rollout across 111 Lifepoint and ScionHealth markets by year end will show whether that holds.

What to Watch Next Month

  • Basalt's rollout. Blake Wu's bet faces its test as Basalt rolls out to 111 Lifepoint and ScionHealth markets by the end of 2026.
  • State caregiver pay. State decisions on Medicaid pay for family caregivers will shape Abby Care, the company Transformation Capital backed in this window.
  • Vera's partnerships. Vera Health plans partnerships with medical societies, publishers, and health systems, the first sign of how Threshold's free-tool bet earns money.
