Heidi Patel is a managing partner at Rethink Impact, a venture firm investing in female-led technology companies, where she was an early investor in Spring Health. She co-created and teaches a course on impact investing at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
From Princeton to Media and Telecom Banking
Patel earned an AB from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business, which recognized her as a Centennial Alumni Catalyst, according to her Rethink Impact profile. She worked in media and telecom investment banking at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Credit Suisse First Boston, and she was a founding member of AOL Time Warner Ventures.
Impact Investing Before Rethink
She was a director at Pacific Community Ventures, an Acumen Fund global fellow working with D.light Design in India, and president of New Island Capital Management, a mission-focused investment adviser to one family, where she sat on an investment committee overseeing more than 100 investments.
Health Investments at Rethink Impact
Her boards include Clarity Pediatrics and Culina Health, and earlier investments include Spring Health and CareAcademy. In October 2026 Rethink Impact led the $7 million seed round of Allswell, a virtual therapy practice for LGBTQ+ patients. “Only 5% of Gen X identifies as LGBTQ+, compared with 25% of Gen Z,” Patel said in the announcement.
