Founder and CEO
Basalt Health
Ben Hackett is the founder and chief executive of Basalt Health, AI software that reads referrals for post-acute care and helps admissions teams decide faster. A product leader who spent nearly a decade at Accolade, he grew up with a mother and grandmother who were nurses.
Early Product Work and Jydo
Hackett began his career as a product manager at Blacktee Systems, an integrated technology services firm, and then moved to LabKey Software, according to a LogRocket interview. He co-founded jydo, an Internet of Things platform that helped facility managers monitor and control thousands of conference room devices.
Leading Product at Accolade
At Accolade, a health care advocacy and virtual primary care company, Hackett became senior vice president of product management. He oversaw its recommendations platform, the True Health Engine, which groups a member's traits, medications, and conditions to suggest clinical programs, as well as its data platform, and he helped bring PlushCare into the company after Accolade acquired it. In Basalt's Series A announcement, the company says he watched administrative work pull clinicians away from patients during those years.
Founding Basalt
He founded Basalt in 2024. “Case managers are still sending 70-page packets and waiting for responses, while patients remain stranded in hospital beds,” Hackett said when Basalt announced a $20 million Series A led by NEA in September 2026.
