Craig Mengert is chief executive of Tegria, a consulting firm that helps hospitals and health plans put in and run the technology behind clinical work and billing.
Business
He has spent more than 30 years in healthcare technology. He held leadership roles at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, then became chief executive of TriZetto, a Cognizant company. TriZetto's software is what health plans use to administer coverage and process transactions. In that job he brought artificial intelligence into TriZetto's products, and he led the company to double-digit growth.
On June 8, 2026, Tegria named him chief executive. He succeeded Brian Cahill, who had led the firm since 2022 and then retired. The firm has more than 1,000 people and has worked with more than 650 provider and payer clients. Altaris, a healthcare investment firm, had acquired Tegria earlier that year. He said, "I am honored to step into the role of CEO to guide the firm's next chapter."
