Hummingbird Healthcare

Jeremy Schwach is the founder and chief executive of Hummingbird Healthcare, which runs patient access operations for health systems. He spent two decades in the Epic ecosystem and previously led Bluetree Network.

Mad-Bus, Epic, and Northwell

Schwach studied at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he started Mad-Bus, a student transportation company, from his dorm room, according to his personal site. He later led complex Epic implementations and advised Northwell on enterprise modernization.

Bluetree and Providence

He founded Bluetree Network, a healthcare IT consulting firm that worked with many of the largest US health systems. Providence acquired Bluetree in 2019, and Schwach stayed through 2022. He has said culture and high hiring standards were a core advantage.

Starting Hummingbird

In 2023 he founded Hummingbird to make getting care less painful by combining people, operations, and technology around patient access. The company closed a $20 million Series B in February 2025 led by Health Velocity Capital, and Schwach wrote that Hummingbird had more than 300 people by January 2026.
