Leon Lerman

Co-founder

Cynerio

Leon Lerman co-founded Cynerio with Daniel Brodie. Cynerio finds connected medical devices on a hospital network, including infusion pumps and imaging machines, and watches them for cyberattacks that can interrupt care. He is based in the New York area.

Early life

He earned a bachelor of science in industrial engineering and management from the Open University of Israel, with distinction. He served as an intelligence officer in Unit 8200 of the Israel Defense Forces, then worked in security sales at RSA and as director of sales at Metapacket.

Business

Cynerio inventories those devices, which ordinary office security software often cannot see, and can split the network so an attack on one machine does not spread to the next.

In a 2021 interview he said hospitals need a clearer path to follow when ransomware hits, because a shutdown can affect patient care.

On July 30, 2025, Axonius announced that it had acquired Cynerio. The announcement said Lerman, then chief executive, would join Axonius as senior vice president, and that Brodie would join the office of the chief technology officer.
