Company leader
Mike Simmons
Founder
Andros
Mike Simmons founded Andros, which health plans use to check that clinicians are qualified to join a network and to see whether members can reach them. He started the company in New York in 2013 under the name CredSimple.
Early life
After a master's program at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, he drove to New York in 2013. On the way he left Interstate 95, went as far as Niagara Falls, and stopped at hospitals to sit with people who credential clinicians.
Business
CredSimple checked provider credentials. In late 2020 it acquired Glenridge Health, and in 2021 the combined company took the name andros, for the Andros Barrier Reef off Andros Island in the Bahamas. The company uses the reef to describe provider records that have to stay connected across plans and clinics.
The software, which the company calls a*, pulls provider data into credentialing and into building a health plan's network. A plan uses it to add its clinicians and to keep checking that their records are still valid.
In July 2023 he stepped down as chief executive, and Jeff Fritz took that role. On September 15, 2026, Medallion acquired Andros.
