Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Alora
Sathish John is founder and chief executive of Alora, in Atlanta, Georgia. Alora is software for home health, home care, and hospice agencies, used to schedule a visit, write the clinical note, and send the bill.
Early life
He was a senior software engineer at a healthcare company in Wisconsin. In 2005 he moved to Atlanta with his wife and their two young children and started his own company. He had spent the previous 12 years designing healthcare software.
Business
He spent six months on the first version and named it Alora. The company says the word means better than best. In January 2006 the owner of a home health agency in Florida asked to buy the first license. He thought the software was not finished and asked for two weeks. That agency is still a customer. By the end of the year Alora had six clients.
Alora first shipped on CDs. By 2010 it ran in a web browser. In 2013 it was ready for tablets. The company later made the whole interface adjust to a phone, including electronic visit verification, so an agency can show Medicaid that its caregivers were in the home.
