Company leader
Sundar Kannan
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
KanTime
Sundar Kannan is founder and chief executive of KanTime. KanTime is an electronic record for home health, hospice, and personal care agencies, so one office can schedule a visit, write the note, and send the bill from the same system.
Early life
He has described himself as a first-generation immigrant from India. He earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's in industrial and process engineering in the United States, then returned to India and started an engineering design and manufacturing firm. He says that firm helped build the first combat aircraft simulator for the Indian defense and took the company public in 1994.
Business
In 1997 he came back to the United States and started Kanrad Technologies, an information-technology consulting firm. Kanrad moved into home care in 2006 and took the name KanTime. In 2010 it added skilled nursing, and later hospice and pediatric nursing. He has said the useful habit is to break a process into smaller pieces and fix each one. The record is meant to let an agency follow the same patient from personal care into home health and then hospice on one chart.
