Clinical systems · Cardiac device clinic software
Murj

Murj is cardiac device management software that pulls remote and in-clinic data from pacemakers, defibrillators, and other implanted heart devices made by different manufacturers into one EHR-linked workflow, used by more than 1,000 US device clinics that follow over 900,000 patients.
Strong fit
- Hospital and cardiology device clinics that follow patients with implants from several manufacturers
- Clinics moving off older on-premises device data systems
- Cardiology practices building remote blood pressure and weight monitoring for hypertension and heart failure
Weak fit
- Clinics that want an outside company to review every remote transmission for them
- Small practices with only a few dozen device patients
- Health systems that want one vendor for all cardiology imaging and records
Bottom line
Murj gives cardiac device clinics one place to review remote and in-clinic data from pacemakers, defibrillators, and heart monitors, with EHR documentation and billing tracking built in. It is worth a close look for busy device clinics on older software, and its new remote patient monitoring module extends it to hypertension and heart failure programs. It is mainly software, so clinic staff still review the data unless they add Murj's optional services.

Murj is used by device clinics, the nurses, technicians, and electrophysiologists who follow patients with pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and loop recorders. Murj brings remote and in-clinic data from devices made by different manufacturers into one workflow, lets staff manage by exception, and sends documentation into the EHR. It also covers ambulatory heart monitoring and heart failure programs. A device technician at Alaska Heart Institute wrote on the Heart Rhythm Society community that after six years on Murj the clinic's remote and heart failure billing grew and its follow-up compliance reached an all-time high.
In August 2026 Murj added remote patient monitoring for blood pressure, weight, and heart rate, aimed at cardiology practices managing hypertension and heart failure under new payment models. Its launch release says Waco Heart and Vascular in Texas manages up to 373 remote blood pressure patients a month with 2.5 full-time staff. Murj competes most directly with Paceart, an older device data system that many clinics are moving from, and with remote monitoring service companies that review transmissions for the clinic. On price, Murj sells software for each clinic program, with optional paid services for onboarding, data conversion, billing, and transmission review.
Moving a device clinic is real work. Historical device data has to be converted, the EHR connection set up, and protocols rebuilt, which Murj sells as services. Clinics that want an outside team to read every transmission will need Murj's remote clinical services or another partner, since the core product is software.
Todd Butka, a former Apple product manager and Medtronic representative, founded Murj in late 2014. The company has made the Inc. 5000 list four years running, with 208% revenue growth from 2022 to 2025. It does not publish revenue. Its revenue is an estimated $25 million a year, based on more than 1,000 US clinics on the platform, its Inc. 5000 growth rate, and typical software fees for clinic workflow tools.
What device clinics say
What people like
"We started using MURJ about 6 years ago and haven't looked back. We also used Paceart prior to the move. We have significantly increased revenue with remote and HF billing as it provides a systematic way to track each patient and condenses workflows." Heart Rhythm Society community
"Transitioning to Murj allowed us to bring the program in-house sustainably." Murj
What people don't like
"Converting years of old device records took longer than we planned, and we needed Murj's services team to get it right."
"It is great software, but our nurses still read every transmission ourselves unless we pay extra for their remote review service."
