Strong fit
- Independent and specialty practices that want billing, software, and staff support from one vendor
- Groups that prefer to outsource revenue cycle work to a large offshore team
- Small and rural hospitals looking at the Medsphere products CareCloud now owns
Weak fit
- Practices that want quick answers from a consistent support contact
- Groups planning a data migration from a complex legacy EHR on a tight timeline
- Large health systems standardized on Epic or Oracle Health
Bottom line
CareCloud bundles outsourced billing, practice management, an EHR, and a growing set of AI tools for medical practices, and it added hospital software through its 2025 Medsphere purchase. It has grown mostly through acquisitions and has reported nine straight quarters of GAAP net income. Users credit the software with being easy to learn and the reporting with being strong, and the most common complaints are about support tickets that stall and data problems during EHR migrations.
Score breakdown

CareCloud's customers are mostly medical practices and physician groups, plus a smaller number of hospitals. A practice can hire CareCloud to run its billing, coding, and collections, or it can license the software on its own: practice management, the talkEHR and CareCloud Charts records systems, business intelligence, and patient experience tools. More than 40,000 providers use its products, according to its second quarter 2026 results. Its newer AI products include cirrusAI notes for documentation, Front Desk Assist, and the stratusAI Desk Agent for patient calls, according to its website.
Pricing is by quote. Among companies we review, Waystar sells claims and payment software to providers of all sizes, Office Ally and Claim.MD run claims clearinghouses used by small practices, and Infinx sells prior authorization and revenue cycle services.
The company was founded in 1999 and was known as MTBC before it renamed itself CareCloud. It trades on Nasdaq under the ticker CCLD and has made more than 25 acquisitions since its 2014 IPO, CEO Stephen Snyder told Zacks in October 2025. In August 2025 it bought Medsphere Systems for about $16.5 million, adding the CareVue hospital EHR, Wellsoft emergency department software, and Marketware.
Second quarter 2026 revenue was $31.9 million, up from $27.4 million a year earlier, and first-half revenue was $63.2 million, according to the company's results. CareCloud expects $128 million to $132 million in revenue for 2026, and the quarter was its ninth in a row with GAAP net income.
On G2, CareCloud has a 3.6 out of 5 average from 34 reviews. Reviewers praise the software for being easy to use, and complaints focus on support and on data that did not carry over cleanly when practices switched systems.
