Strong fit

  • Large health systems losing referrals to out-of-network specialists
  • Growth, strategy, and physician liaison teams that want a partner working referral changes in the field
  • Executives who want vendor fees tied to agreed results

Weak fit

  • Health plans, since the current offering is built for health systems
  • Small hospitals with little referral volume to recapture
  • Buyers who want a self-serve analytics subscription

Bottom line

Clarify Health is a referral and network growth partner for health systems, built on a large claims and price transparency dataset. It is worth a look for large systems that want help keeping patients in network and want fees tied to an agreed baseline. Its outcomes-based model is new, and a co-founder took over as CEO in 2026.

Clarify Health is used by health system growth, strategy, contracting, and physician liaison teams. Its Meridian product looks across a system's market to find service lines that lose patients, places to add access, and referring practices whose patterns could change, then turns each finding into a playbook for the team. A second product, Arrival, follows referrals until the patient is booked and runs outreach and a digital front door, which Clarify says is powered by Loyal Health. Clarify says on its homepage that Meridian typically surfaces $65 million to $100 million in total annual opportunity for a system and that it works with more than 60 health systems.

Clarify prices on results: it says 100% of its economics are tied to outcomes measured against a baseline agreed before the work starts. Among companies we review, Trella Health sells claims-based market intelligence for referral growth, and Innovaccer and Arcadia sell broader health data platforms.

Clarify was founded in 2015 in San Francisco. It raised a $115 million Series C in March 2021 and a $150 million Series D in April 2022 at a $1.4 billion valuation, according to GetLatka, which lists 114 employees. Co-founder Todd Gottula, who had been president, became CEO and introduced a new leadership team on May 1, 2026. Clarify does not publish revenue; we estimate it at about $20 million a year.

Its data layer, the Clarify Atlas Platform, draws on what the company describes as 300 million patient journeys and 5.6 trillion price transparency rates. Clarify also sold analytics to health plans, and a badge on its about page shows a 2024 Best in KLAS award for payer data analytics platforms.

The small set of comments on KLAS praise Clarify's service and the breadth of its data, and say the main pain points are with the data itself.
