Diagnostics & imaging AI · AI cancer pathology
Ibex Medical Analytics

Ibex Medical Analytics is a pathology AI company, founded in 2016 and based in Tel Aviv and Boston, whose platform helps pathologists detect, grade, and classify cancers including breast, prostate, lung, and gastric disease on digital slides.
Strong fit
- Pathology labs and health systems that already scan slides digitally
- Reference labs that want a second read on prostate, breast, and other high-volume cancer cases
- Biopharma teams that need AI scoring of IHC biomarkers for trials and companion diagnostics
Weak fit
- Labs that have not yet gone digital and still work only under the microscope
- Small practices without IT support for deploying AI in the diagnostic workflow
- Buyers who need a simple published per-slide price
Bottom line
Ibex gives pathologists an AI second reader for cancer detection and grading on digital slides, with live deployments across large labs in the US and Europe. It is a strong option for digital pathology programs that want proven clinical AI and a growing biopharma offering. Labs that are still fully analog will need a scanner project first.
Score breakdown
Weights: Outcomes 35% · Product 30% · Implementation 20% · Pricing clarity 15%.
Ibex builds AI that pathologists use while reading digital whole-slide images. The platform flags cancer and related features across tissue types, including breast, prostate, lung, and gastric samples on H&E and IHC stains. The company says its models were trained on rich datasets from more than 10 million slides and that it is the most widely deployed clinical AI platform in pathology. Pathologists at customers such as PathGroup and academic centers have described it as a second set of eyes that catches small or high-grade foci that can be missed in high-volume work.
In February 2026 Ibex named Yair Heller CEO and moved co-founder Joseph Mossel to lead US clinical growth and a biopharma division focused on IHC biomarker quantification for drug development. The same release said Ibex doubled the number of cases on its platform for a second straight year, grew its customer base by more than 70%, and expanded live applications more than threefold versus 2024, with deployments at PathGroup and HNL Lab Medicine in the US and large European lab networks. Competitors include other pathology and imaging AI vendors such as Qure.ai, Subtle Medical, and Riverain Technologies on adjacent imaging AI, plus dedicated pathology rivals not yet reviewed here. Pricing is enterprise and not published.
Revenue is not disclosed. Ibex's revenue is an estimated $35 million a year, based on its Series C scale, reported case growth, hundreds of clinical deployments, and biopharma expansion. Buyers should confirm current clearances for each tissue type and country, because some Ibex solutions are FDA-cleared while others are CE-IVD, registered abroad, or research-use-only in the US.
Pathologists quoted on Ibex's site stress accuracy on small cancer foci and grading features such as Gleason score and perineural invasion, and they treat the tool as a companion, not a replacement for the pathologist.
What pathologists say
What people like
"AI provides an additional prospective quality control ... The ability of Ibex's AI platform, not only to detect small foci of cancer that can be missed, but more interestingly and importantly higher-grade cancers that can be very small, make it a perfect companion for pathologists." Ibex
"Ibex enables us to deliver a new level of diagnostic precision, moving confidently to accurately diagnose more patients." Ibex release
What people don't like
"If your lab is not digital yet, you are buying scanners and storage before you buy AI."
"Clearance status differs by tissue type and country, so every use case needs a regulatory check."
